Design and look
The design of the new iPhone will be different from the last one, it will look like a book and get folded like that only and open like a diary. The cover of the phone will be big, and it will also consist of a big inner screen. When it is folded, it will look like two phones are stuck together, with no way for air to pass through. When you unfold it, it will get thinner, as it is only 4.5mm thick, which is the thinnest iPhone ever, even though thinner than the iPhone Air.
The good news is this mobile will have a titanium frame for better strength and to prevent heating. The company has again shown their trust in the titanium body after they discontinues it from the iPhone 17. The phone has a different shape form other as it has a passport-like shape.
Display
The new iPhone Ultra has a much bigger display than the others. The outer cover of the mobile is 5.5inches which is decently big, but talking about the inner screen is much larger; it is 7.8 inches, which is almost as big as a mini iPad. But the main highlight is that it will be a crease-free display; this is the major problem in many of the foldable mobiles, that they have crease spots in between the folding areas. The creases made the display look unattractive and distracting. This makes it different from the same fold, as their phone has a crease because of multiple foldings.
Hinge
In the new phone, Apple is using the now liquid metal hinge, which is a much stronger, smooth-flexing alloy than regular hinge metal. The liquid metal hinge is meant to be long-lasting and keep the display crease-free. But the problem with this was that it failed the Apple durability test standards during the high-frequency fold; this is the main reason why Apple delayed the launch of a foldable phone for years. This is why the leak keeps flip-flopping in the release date, but it has been confirmed this time that the iPhone Ultra will get to market in October and will be launched in the month of September.
New Inner Features
The new iPhone will be powered by Apple’s most advanced chip called A20 Pro chip, built on an advanced 2nm process, making it Apple’s most powerful processor yet. The phone has the RAM of 12 GB to make the phone much mor smoother and help you in multitasking. In the rumour, the battery life has been expected to be 5000 to 5800 mAh, which is considered the largest battery used in an iPhone.
The other exciting new the apple has dropped Face ID; this time, there will be a Touch ID sensor. They decide to remove Face ID as there isn’t enough internal space in the front camera. Plus, this one will also have the camera control button as shown in the recent leaked photos.
Software
The most anticipated and interesting update is iOS 27. The new update brings split-screen multitasking, which will be futuristic. But the catch with this is that it will only work for the iPhone Ultra; other older versions of the iPhone won’t get this feature even after updating. This is the first time that any app software is supporting true side-by-side app usage, something Android foldables have had for years. The colour front has already been confirmed through leaked images, while the second is also rumoured to be an indigo or deep blue shade. the iPhone ultra will come in three storage variant, 256 gb, 512gb and one 1tb. as for the price, expect this to be apple’s most expensive iPhone ever came in the market, with the rumours estimated that it will cost neat 1999 dollar to 2500 dollar. It’s expected to be announced in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 series, though actual shipping could slip to October and may get more delays.
