Introduction

Samsung has been at the forefront of foldable smartphones, effectively reinventing mobile devices.

We are incredibly excited to introduce the latest model, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This fantastic device combines innovation, a premium design, and powerful performance. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung’s flagship foldable device of 2025 and is designed for professionals, multitaskers, and any users with a mobile productivity requirement.

Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, you get a new hinge, brighter displays, faster performance, and updated software with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This device is not just a phone; it is a small, pocket-sized productivity machine that can be up to a mini tablet in just a few seconds. No matter if you are a business executive, a creative professional, or an entertainment junkie, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 makes the ultimate smartphone a reality.

Quality of Design and Build

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 maintains the same book-like foldable style as the iterations before it but utilizes a new hinge design with a redesigned open-and-close motion with improvements to durability. As with other foldables designed by Samsung, the design and engineering of the Z Fold 7 create a more comfortable folding motion and reduce any risk of strain during use. The Z Fold 7 features an Armour Aluminium frame and a glazing of Gorilla Glass Victus 3, which creates an appearance of premium quality.

Despite housing a larger battery and intake, the Fold 7 is lighter than previous iterations. The Z Fold 7 also provides an IPX8-rated water resistance, which makes it safe for incidental splashes and rain exposure. However, dust protection is pretty limited due to the design of foldables.

The colour options for the phone include Phantom Black, Ice Blue, and a luxurious Titanium Grey, all with a satin finish that does not fingerprint easily. The detail in every contour and edge makes the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 feel both futuristic and refined.

Display Technology

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The main inner display is an amazing 7.8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an exceptionally buttery 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. At 2,200 peak brightness, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is always visible, even in direct sunlight. Rated for HDR10+ capabilities, the Z Fold 7 delivers colour, contrast, and clarity that begs for extended use with digital media.

The 6.4-inch cover display also has a 120 Hz refresh rate, better touch sensitivity, and more effective palm rejection — made for quick replies or moving through apps without unfolding the phone. The crease in the middle is less visible, which makes the experience of the inner screen feel more like a solid design and less like an interrupted tablet display.

Performance & Hardware

With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 achieves super-fast speeds, greater efficiency, and sophisticated AI processing. The phone has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1 TB of storage (UFS 4.0), meaning the Fold 7 is ready for anything.

Benchmark scores ranked the Fold 7 as one of the fastest Android devices of 2025; that data on real-world performance held true. It was easy to run and multitask three apps on screen side-by-side, and apps were almost instantly continuous from display to display.

Gamers will appreciate the Z Fold 7’s thermal management system, as it holds a stable temperature during long sessions, and it feels like a console game on the oversized screen.

Software Experience

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is running One UI 7.1 on Android 15, which is a very foldable software experience. The most notable feature for the general consumer is probably flex mode, where apps will adapt their UI to be in the partial fold position, which turns the Fold 7 into a mini laptop for video calls or taking notes.

With Multi-Active Window, you can run up to three apps on the main display with drag-and-drop functionality. When you connect to an external display, Samsung DeX enables the Fold 7 to become a desktop workstation.

Samsung has guaranteed five years of OS updates and seven years of security updates, which means the Fold 7 is well-suited to be relevant at least until the beginning of the next decade.

Camera System

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a triple rear camera system:

50MP wide (f/1.8, OIS)

12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2)

12MP telephoto (3x optical zoom, OIS)

On the cover display, there is a 10MP selfie camera, and the inner display features a 4MP under-display camera, now clearer and with less pixel distortion.

The photos in daylight were nice and crisp with good dynamic range, and low-light photos have the benefit of AI Nightography processing. The telephoto lens is capable of good zoom shots, and the video recording capabilities reach 8K video at 30 fps or 4K video at 120 fps.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is strong in versatility in relation to more traditional flagship phones, but some dedicated camera and photography-focused devices like the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have more zoom capability.

Battery Life & Charging

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

With a dual-cell 5,000mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 delivers good battery life for a foldable phone. For mixed use, each device can easily last a full day, with 6–7 hours of screen-on time and significant multitasking use.

It charges at 45W while wired, so you can charge 50% in under 25 minutes. For wireless charging, it can charge at up to 25W. You also have reverse wireless charging to charge accessories, like your Galaxy Buds or smartwatch

Connectivity & Features

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

When it comes to connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is future-proofed, offering full support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7 readiness, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and ultra-wideband (UWB) for advanced tracking of compatible devices.

It is compatible with the S Pen Fold Edition and includes reduced latency (for nearly instant ink flow) for artists and notetakers. The stereo speakers that are tuned with Dolby Atmos produce rich, balanced audio for consuming your media content.

Additionally, this foldable provides secure facial recognition and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Productivity & Use Cases

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is an excellent device for:

Business: Responsive document editing, easily participating in video meetings, and multitasking with many open apps all at the same time.

Creatives: Drawing, sketching, and photo and video editing with the large screen, with the flexibility of the S Pen.

Travellers: Reviewing a map, watching a movie, or reading an eBook, all on a larger display without needing a tablet!

Gamers: Providing you with a fantastic gaming experience with controller capability and higher refresh rates.

Pricing & Variant

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced at $1,899 for the 256GB version and has increased pricing for the 512GB and 1TB versions. Pre-order bundles usually have an S Pen, a standing cover, or Galaxy Buds FE included.

While expensive, it provides utility and versatility that exceeds its value for power users. Competitive alternate devices exist that rival the Z Fold 7, such as the Google Pixel Fold 2 and Honour Magic V3, but the Samsung ecosystem cannot be replicated.

Final Recommendation

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is not only a phone but is also a productivity device, an entertainment device, and a creativity device. If you want the most sophisticated foldable and are willing to pay the cost, then this is the one to purchase in 2025.

If the large multitasking screen is not needed, then you could save quite a bit of money and easily pick up a Galaxy S25 Ultra or a more pocketable Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Overall Review: The most polished, well-built foldable yet.
